I always wanted to work at Microsoft, but during my trip, I took the scenic route to Washington and visited some landmarks on the way:

·       The School of Engineering in Egypt, where I got my BS,

·       The Egyptian Navy, where I started my career, worked for about 20 years, and retired as a rear admiral,

·       The Radar Simulation School in England and the Metrology School in France, where I learned some more,

·       A Publishing House in Egypt, where I wrote computer books and some science fiction novels,

·       A Publishing Firm in Texas, where I also wrote a few computer books, and

·       Louisiana State University Medical Center, where I wrote programs to help hearing research for another 10 years.

It was a long trip but I finally made it to Microsoft, and I must say that it is the most wonderful part of the trip.

 

  • Favorite movie: "Forrest Gump," Tom Hanks 
  • Favorite book: "A Brief History of Time," Stephen Hawking
  • Favorite writers: Naguib Mahfouz (Egyptian writer) and Charles Dickens
  • Hobbies: Swimming, poetry, and calligraphy
  • Family: Camelia Solomon (spouse), Sally (daughter) and Craig Combel (son-in-law), and Hazem (son) and Pille Mandla (daughter-in-law)
  • Pets: Stormy (Brittany Spaniel dog) and Shadow (Persian cat)
